The Founder and pioneer National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ralph Nwosu, has revealed that the party now holds a strong position in Nigeria’s political space, with 28 senators, 46 members of the House of Representatives, and over 50 lawmakers in various State Houses of Assembly—amounting to more than 100 elected officials nationwide.

Nwosu made the disclosure on Tuesday during the ADC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja. He attributed the party’s rapid growth and political relevance to its principled stance against financial inducements and efforts to weaken its opposition role.

According to him, the ADC consistently resisted offers both within and outside the country aimed at compromising its values.

“We stood our ground against offers both at home and abroad. While some politicians believe everything can be bought, we said no. The ADC refused to be compromised,” Nwosu said.

He further stated that the result of this integrity is now visible in the party’s expanding influence and growing number of elected representatives.

He added that the party’s membership has seen a significant rise nationwide, with online registration platforms reportedly overwhelmed by the interest of young Nigerians.

Nwosu stressed that the ADC’s refusal to join the move toward a one-party state has gained it widespread respect across the country.

Speaking at the same event, the party’s Interim National Chairman, David Mark, expressed gratitude to party members for their continued trust.

He promised to lead with transparency, discipline, and inclusiveness. Mark also unveiled a series of reforms aimed at strengthening internal democracy and expanding grassroots participation.

He pledged to ensure 35 percent representation for women and increased inclusion of youths in the party’s decision-making process.

In addition, he announced plans to inaugurate a 50-member Policy Committee that will guide the party’s vision in key sectors such as health, education, security, and infrastructure.

According to him, these reforms are part of the ADC’s broader goal to offer Nigeria a truly progressive, inclusive, and transparent alternative to governance.

“The ADC remains Nigeria’s true platform for progressive, inclusive, and transparent governance,” Mark affirmed.
