In a heartwarming gesture of compassion and respect, the Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has fulfilled a promise made to Senator Suemo Chia by constructing a befitting house for the respected elder statesman and his family.

The development follows an emotional appeal made months ago when Senator Chia expressed his deep wish to see Governor Alia before his passing. Through the intervention of Hon. Emmanuel Terungwa Iorbee, the long-awaited meeting finally took place about three months ago.

Moved by the senator’s humility and years of service to the state, Governor Alia took a personal interest in ensuring his comfort and welfare. Construction of the new house began shortly after their meeting and has now reached an advanced stage, with the finishing touches currently underway.

Hon. Iorbee expressed gratitude to the Governor for his uncommon kindness and fatherly care, describing the gesture as “a reflection of true leadership and humanity in action.”

The people of Benue have also praised the Governor’s action, noting that it demonstrates his deep respect for leaders who have contributed to the state’s development.

Governor Alia, known for his people-oriented governance, continues to prioritize compassion, unity, and service to humanity — values that remain at the core of his administration.
