Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the political platform where politicians can find purpose, peace, and direction.
The governor made this statement on Tuesday in Kaduna during the distribution of food items for Christmas and New Year celebrations, an event organised by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
Governor Alia revealed that during the recent budget presentation at the Benue State House of Assembly in Makurdi, the Speaker informed him that six lawmakers still officially in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had already aligned themselves with the APC in principle. He expressed confidence that their formal defection to the ruling party would soon take place.
According to Alia, the APC provides both spiritual and political comfort for its members, describing the party as a home for those seeking stability and reassurance.
The Benue governor also commended Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for fostering peaceful coexistence in the state, especially among Christian communities. He further appreciated Governor Sani for including members of the Tiv ethnic group in key leadership roles within his administration, describing the gesture as a sign of inclusive governance.
