The Benue State House of Assembly has officially recalled five members who were previously suspended for allegedly tampering with a report on the activities of the Otukpo Local Government Area.

The decision was made during Thursday’s plenary session, which was presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh.

The affected lawmakers—Hon. Shimawua Terna, Hon. Mathew Damkor, Hon. Cephas Dyako, Hon. Moses Egbodo, and Hon. Isaac Ochekliye—were initially suspended in the last sitting of the House following findings of misconduct relating to the LG report.

During the session, the five legislators appeared before the Assembly, expressed remorse for their actions, and pleaded for forgiveness. They assured the House of their commitment to upholding integrity and pledged to conduct themselves honorably going forward.

Their appeal was granted by the Assembly, marking their official reinstatement.

The development was confirmed in a statement by Terver Zamber, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly.
