BENUE STATE @ 50: APC ELDERS ADVISORY COUNCIL SALUTES A GOLDEN LEGACY.
On behalf of the APC Elders Advisory Council, Benue State, we heartily felicitate His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State, and the good people of the state on the historic occasion of Benue State’s 50th anniversary.
Fifty years is a remarkable milestone in the life of any state. It is a moment that calls for deep reflection on our collective journey our struggles, sacrifices, triumphs, and enduring hopes as a people. Since its creation in 1976, Benue State has remained a land of immense human and natural endowments, a people rich in culture, resilience, and an unyielding commitment to unity, peace, and progress.
This golden jubilee comes at a defining moment in our history, under the leadership of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, whose administration has demonstrated courage, moral clarity, and a resolute commitment to rebuilding institutions, restoring public confidence in governance, and placing Benue State on the path of sustainable development. His leadership reflects a clear departure from politics as usual and a renewed emphasis on accountability, service, and the common good.
As Benue marks 50 years of existence, we honour the vision of our founding fathers, the sacrifices of past leaders, and the resilience of our people who have continued to believe in a greater Benue despite challenges. We are confident that with purposeful leadership, collective responsibility, and the grace of God, the next chapter of Benue State will be defined by peace, security, economic revitalisation, and inclusive development.
We therefore urge all sons and daughters of Benue, both at home and in the diaspora, to use this golden jubilee as a moment of renewed commitment to unity, patriotism, and constructive engagement in the task of building a stronger and more prosperous state.
Once again, we congratulate His Excellency, the Government, and the entire people of Benue State on this historic celebration.
May the Almighty God continue to guide our leaders and bless Benue State now and always.
