The Benue State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, is set to host a special honor dinner in celebration of Nigeria’s Super Falcons star, Francisca Mlumun Ordega, for her outstanding achievements in football and for making the state proud on the global stage.
The event is scheduled to take place this evening, Wednesday, August 7, 2025, at 8:00 PM, at the New Banquet Hall in Makurdi.
Francisca Ordega, a native of Benue State, recently clinched her fifth Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) medal and has continued to inspire many with her exceptional talent and commitment to the game.
The dinner is expected to be graced by top government officials, sports stakeholders, and other dignitaries, as the state rolls out the red carpet in recognition of Ordega’s contributions to sports development and youth empowerment.
Governor Alia expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Ordega for her patriotism, stating that the government remains committed to celebrating and supporting indigenes who bring honor to Benue State.
“Francisca is not just a football star, she is a symbol of hope and excellence for our youth,” the Governor noted.
