Ayilla Patrick Ayilla, a native of Gwer East Local Government Area in Benue State, has made history at Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), graduating with a First-Class degree in Engineering and a flawless 4.56 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) — an achievement attained by only a select few.

Ayilla’s remarkable success story is one of perseverance, discipline, and faith. Studying far from home, he faced challenges ranging from cultural adjustments to the rigors of a demanding engineering program, yet he persevered through it all with focus and resilience.

Reflecting on his academic journey, Ayilla described it as a path filled with sacrifice and determination. “The last mile is always the hardest,” he said, recalling countless sleepless nights and moments of persistence that shaped his success.

In addition to his academic excellence, Ayilla demonstrated leadership and commitment to service as the General Secretary of the Nigerian Institute of Civil Engineers Students’ Affiliate (NICESA). His hands-on experience during internships further strengthened his engineering expertise and practical skills.
