The Federal Government has approved the construction of a ₦1 trillion Metropolitan Rail Service in Kano State, marking a major milestone in the drive to modernise urban transportation and boost economic activities in northern Nigeria.
The ambitious rail project is designed to overhaul Kano’s metropolitan transport system by easing traffic congestion, improving mobility, and providing a reliable mass transit option for millions of residents across the state capital and surrounding areas.
According to government, the metropolitan rail service will connect key commercial, residential, and industrial hubs within Kano, enhancing the movement of people and goods while reducing travel time and transport costs.
