On the 36th day of his ambitious bicycle journey from Nigeria to the United States, Nigerian cyclist Emmanuel Myam, popularly known as Emmiwuks, was given a royal welcome in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
Emmiwuks was officially received by Her Majesty Nana Kyeremaa Abrafi-Koto, the Queen Mother of ECOWAS and Queen of the Ghanaian Community in Côte d’Ivoire.
The emotional encounter took place as the cyclist arrived in the Ivorian capital, marking one of the most memorable moments of his journey so far.
“Today, I received a welcome that shook me to my core. Maybe I’m still dreaming,” Emmiwuks shared. “To be honored in this way, in a land I’ve never called home, reminds me why I started: To connect. To unify. To inspire.”

What began as a solo mission on two wheels has grown into a continental movement—one that carries a message of hope, unity, and resilience for Africa.
The meeting was made possible through the support of His Royal Majesty Odeneho Dr. Affram Brempong and Pastor Richard Abomtse, whom Emmiwuks credited for helping him connect with the Queen Mother.
“Ghana showed up for me, even across borders,” he said. “Akwaba, always.”

Expressing his gratitude, Emmiwuks added, “Your Majesty, thank you for seeing value in this mission. Thank you for reminding me that this isn’t just a ride—it’s a calling.”
As he pedals onward, the NIG2USA campaign continues to gain recognition across Africa, serving as a beacon of inspiration for many young people on the continent.
