Operatives of the Makurdi Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested Dr. Mkor Aondona, the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Benue State on Documentation, Research, and Planning, over grave allegations of sextortion, cyberbullying, and blackmail.
Dr. Aondona was taken into custody on Friday, June 20, 2025, in Makurdi, following multiple petitions from female students who accused him of sexual exploitation, unethical conduct, and intimidation.
According to the complainants, Aondona allegedly used his influence to recruit slim and attractive young women under the guise of ushering jobs.
However, they claim he made sexual favors a prerequisite for selection. The victims further alleged that Aondona secretly recorded their sexual encounters without consent and used the footage to blackmail them into continued sexual relations.
Disturbingly, some of the explicit videos were reportedly disseminated via various messaging platforms, escalating the emotional trauma for the victims and raising public outcry.
Sources within the EFCC confirmed that preliminary investigations support the allegations, and several incriminating materials have been recovered.
The commission has stated that the suspect will be formally charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The Benue State Government has yet to issue an official statement regarding the arrest of its aide. However, pressure is mounting for a swift and transparent handling of the case, given the severity of the allegations.
