In a major breakthrough in the fight against banditry, one of the most feared bandit commanders in the Northwest, Kachalla Yellow Danbokolo, has been confirmed dead.
The notorious Fulani warlord was killed alongside 173 of his fighters in a fierce and decisive operation led by the Shinkafi Volunteer Forces, locally known as Yan Sakai.
Kachalla Yellow Danbokolo was ranked among the top three most wanted bandits on the nation’s security watchlist, notorious for orchestrating numerous deadly raids, kidnappings, and attacks on communities across Zamfara and neighboring states.
The operation, described as well-coordinated and intelligence-driven, was carried out in the forests surrounding the Shinkafi axis.
According ConfirmNews Correspondent during an interview with a ranking vigilante Officer, it took weeks of surveillance and tactical planning to launch the surprise onslaught that resulted in the elimination of Danbokolo and his men.
The successful offensive is being celebrated as one of the most significant victories against organized banditry in recent times.
It is expected to bring much-needed relief to communities long plagued by fear, displacement, and destruction at the hands of criminal gangs.
Residents of Shinkafi and nearby villages expressed joy and renewed hope for lasting peace in the region. Many took to the streets to celebrate the fall of the dreaded warlord whose name once struck fear across the zone.
Security analysts have commended the courage and resilience of the Yan Sakai, while urging the government to support local efforts with better training, equipment, and intelligence-sharing mechanisms to ensure sustained peace and order.
As of press time, security forces are said to be combing the area to prevent any regrouping of the remnants of the gang.
