A recent live-streamed discussion with Sunrays 103.1 FM Radio Korinya-City shed light on the vital relationship between drivers and passengers, comparing the two to the heart and body—inseparable and interdependent. The conversation emphasized that while drivers exist to serve passengers, passengers equally rely on drivers for safe and smooth journeys, with both sharing a singular purpose: reaching their destinations safely.

During the session, participants reflected on the achievements of past administrations, particularly that of Comr. Tyohuna Msoo Zaki, whose leadership era was praised for fostering love, harmony, and unity among drivers and passengers. The State Council’s assessment during his tenure earned drivers high commendations for their outstanding performance and dedication to service.

Turning attention to the current administration under Comr. James Aondongu Iorsamber, expectations are high. Described as a vibrant and educated young leader—holding both NCE and degree qualifications—Comr. Iorsamber is being closely watched to see how he will steer the union toward further progress.

In his address, the chairman outlined several strategic initiatives aimed at improving safety, accountability, and welfare within the transport union:

1. Road Safety Collaboration: Plans to partner with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to educate drivers on traffic regulations and safety measures.

2. Passenger Feedback System: Introduction of a sticker system displaying the chairman’s contact number on every vehicle, enabling passengers to report misconduct directly.

3. Disciplinary Measures: Implementation of firm yet fair disciplinary actions to promote professionalism and ensure passenger satisfaction.

4. Unity and Love: A renewed emphasis on strengthening bonds of cooperation and respect among drivers and all union members.

Comr. Iorsamber expressed appreciation to his executive members, describing his time with them as “an awesome moment” and urging them to sustain their spirit of teamwork and dedication.

He also extended heartfelt gratitude to Governor Hyacinth Alia, Commissioner Kunde Aondowase, and Hon. Chikyaa Moses, Chairman of Konshisha Local Government Area, for their continued support and confidence in his leadership.

In conclusion, Comr. Iorsamber reaffirmed his commitment to promoting discipline, unity, and service excellence within the union, pledging that under his leadership, the welfare of both drivers and passengers will remain the utmost priority.
