The Department of State Services has taken into custody one Musa Abubakar, believed to be a key supplier of weapons to armed groups operating in Plateau and other parts of northern Nigeria. He was arrested on November 12 after intelligence reports guided operatives to his workshop in Mista Ali, Bassa Local Government Area.
DSS insiders say Abubakar admitted to producing and circulating sophisticated firearms and components used in improvised explosive devices for groups linked to recent violent attacks. His capture follows shortly after the re-arrest of “Bomboy,” the Kuje prison escapee tied to multiple deadly assaults.
These developments underscore the agency’s ongoing push to tackle terrorism and bolster the country’s security landscape.
