Tragedy struck in Lagos on Wednesday night as 26-year-old interior designer, Deborah Moses, popularly known as Deb’rah Porsche, was brutally murdered by her ex-boyfriend, months after she ended their relationship.
The suspect, identified as Lintex, a native of Otukpo in Benue State, allegedly disguised himself as a dispatch rider to deceive estate security before scaling the fence into Deborah’s residence.
According to rights activist Meddy Olotu, Lintex initially attempted to sabotage her cooking gas pipe in a failed effort to cause an explosion. When that plan was foiled, he reportedly broke into her apartment and stabbed her multiple times until she succumbed to her injuries.
Deborah’s sister disclosed that she had ended the relationship over a year ago due to persistent threats and harassment. The deceased had repeatedly received chilling warnings from Lintex, who allegedly vowed: “If I don’t have you, nobody will. If I don’t marry you, blood will flow.”
Neighbors who heard her screams rushed to the scene, overpowered the suspect, and handed him over to the police. He is currently in custody as investigations continue.
Deborah, who had just completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, was making strides in her interior design career before her life was cut short.
Family members, friends, and activists have condemned the heinous act, calling for swift and decisive justice. They insist the case must not be trivialized, describing her murder as yet another reminder of the dangers of gender-based violence and stalking.
