The Federal Government has approved the promotion of ninety-five (95) top-ranking officers across the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
This was disclosed in a press release issued on July 11, 2025, by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).
The promotions span various senior ranks, including Controllers, Comptrollers, Commandants, Assistant Controllers-General, and Commandants-General.
Specifically, the Nigeria Correctional Service had four Assistant Controllers-General promoted to Deputy Controllers-General and thirty-one Controllers promoted to Assistant Controllers-General.
The Nigeria Immigration Service had six Assistant Comptrollers-General elevated to Deputy Comptrollers-General, and twenty Comptrollers promoted to Assistant Comptrollers-General.
The Federal Fire Service had three Assistant Controllers-General promoted to Deputy Controllers-General, and two Controllers promoted to Assistant Controllers-General.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps had three Assistant Commandants-General elevated to Deputy Commandants-General and twenty-two Commandants promoted to Assistant Commandants-General.
The Board also took decisions on 224 disciplinary cases involving erring officers across the four services.
The decisions ranged from dismissal, compulsory retirement, rejection of appeals against dismissal, exoneration, issuance of warning letters, and loss of seniority.
The breakdown shows that 143 of the cases were from the Nigeria Correctional Service, 31 from the Nigeria Immigration Service, 4 from the Federal Fire Service, and 46 from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
Additionally, the Board approved the commencement of recruitment into the four services and the Board Secretariat, with online applications opening on Monday, July 14, 2025.
Applicants have been warned to beware of fraudsters, as the process will be seamless, transparent, and aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Board also approved the timeline for the 2025 Promotion Exercise, scheduled to begin in August and end in November 2025.

He congratulated all the promoted officers and reminded them that to whom much is given, much is expected. He urged them to apply their wealth of knowledge and experience to the various responsibilities assigned to them.
