The Federal Government has set a 30-day timeline for the completion of emergency repairs on the Keffi flyover in Nasarawa State, which recently suffered structural damage.

This decision comes after one of the flyover’s beams collapsed following a heavy collision with an overloaded truck. The incident sparked widespread concern over infrastructure safety and the enforcement of weight regulations on Nigerian roads.

The Minister of Works, during a site inspection, emphasized the urgency of the project and assured the public that all necessary resources and technical expertise would be deployed to ensure swift and quality repair within the stipulated period.

He further stated that the federal government would not only ensure speedy rehabilitation of the affected section but also investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident to prevent future occurrences.

Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes as construction work intensifies in the coming days.

The government has also appealed for cooperation from residents and road users in the area, assuring them of minimal disruption during the repair process.

The Keffi flyover is a vital infrastructure link connecting Nasarawa to Abuja and other parts of the North-Central region.
