The Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia, has approved the appointment of an Interim Management Committee to oversee the affairs of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi.

According to Sir Tersoo Kula, Mnipr, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, the appointment is part of Governor Alia’s ongoing efforts to restructure, reform, and reposition Lobi Stars FC for improved performance, accountability, and long-term success.

Kula explained that the newly constituted committee will temporarily manage the club’s operations pending a full restructuring process that will align the team with the Governor’s vision for sports development and excellence in Benue State.

The Interim Management Committee members are as follows:

1. Terver Ikya – Chairman

2. Uja Emmanuel – Media Director

3. Harry Yachi – Technical Director

4. Terzungwe Chugh – Administrative/Board Secretary (Ministry of Sports)

5. Barr. Owocho Adejoh Ogiri – Member

Sir Kula stated that Governor Alia has directed the Interim Management Committee to immediately register Lobi Stars FC for the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) season, to ensure early preparations for the campaign and seamless participation in the league.

While congratulating the appointees, Governor Alia, through his Chief Press Secretary, urged them to work in unity, avoid distractions, and focus on returning the club to top-flight football where it rightly belongs.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to revitalizing sports across Benue State, emphasizing that sports remain a key avenue for youth empowerment, job creation, and social cohesion.
