Nollywood has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of fast-rising actress, Omotola, who starred alongside popular actor Lateef Adedimeji in the Yoruba film Lisabi.
The heartbreaking news of her passing was confirmed by her colleague, Bakare Zainab, who took to social media on Friday to announce the tragic development. In a brief but emotional post, Zainab wrote:
“Goodnight. Omotola rest well.”
Although the cause of her death remains unknown, tributes have continued to pour in from friends, fans, and fellow entertainers who have expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the talented actress.
Ashabi, a fellow actress and baby mama to controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, also expressed her grief in an Instagram post. She recounted her recent encounter with Omotola and lamented the unfulfilled dreams they had shared.
Her words:
“Omoh dis one shock me oooo aunty Tola. You’re one of the best actors I’m rooting for. Saw you earlier this year when I was shooting Deputy and we promised to feature each other in our next project, but now you laboured and didn’t wait to reap what life sef.
“I remember nights you do chat to give me hope and advice. Most of your wishes we talked about didn’t even come true. GOD, we can’t question you oooo. Death is deep.”
Fans and colleagues have continued to pay tribute to the late actress, describing her as a passionate performer and a kind-hearted friend whose light dimmed far too soon.
