The Executive Chairman of Guma Local Government Area and Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Benue State, Hon. Maurice Orwough, has announced the temporary relocation of his office from Gbajimba, the local government headquarters, to Daudu.
The decision, he stated, was prompted by the deteriorating security situation in Gbajimba and surrounding communities, which continues to threaten the safety of government personnel and residents.
Orwough disclosed that the move is a precautionary measure to ensure the continuity of governance and public service delivery while efforts are intensified to restore peace in the affected areas.
He emphasized that the relocation is temporary and expressed deep concern over the plight of displaced residents who have fled their homes due to persistent attacks and unrest.
The chairman appealed to security agencies to redouble their efforts in safeguarding lives and property in Guma LGA. He also called on the state and federal governments to intervene swiftly to bring lasting peace to the area.
Hon. Orwough reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Guma and assured them that his administration will continue to function effectively despite the relocation.
