In what can only be described as a landmark day of recognition and opportunity, UKmoni, a young changemaker from Benue State, has described Tuesday, June 17, 2025, as one of the most memorable and fulfilling days of his life.
The day began with a major announcement from the Benue State House of Assembly, where the Honourable Speaker, Hon. Aondona Dajoh, publicly mentioned Ukeyima John (UKmoni) among a select group of individuals to be honoured as “Heroes of Democracy in Benue State.”
This prestigious recognition celebrates the contributions of active citizens working to uphold democratic values, social development, and civic participation in the state.
“I was overwhelmed with joy this morning when I heard my name mentioned by the Speaker on the floor of the Assembly.
To be recognized as a Hero of Democracy is more than just an award — it is a testament to the years of dedication and sacrifice,” UKmoni said.
Later in the day, a second, equally powerful moment unfolded when Africa’s leading influencer, Verydarkblackman (Martins Vincent Otse), made a public post in support of UKmoni.
Not only did he acknowledge his social impact, but he also extended an invitation to UKmoni to work with his NGO, the Martins Vincent Otse Initiative — a foundation committed to empowering youth, promoting justice, and giving back to communities across Africa.
UKmoni, who has long expressed a passion for service and humanitarian causes, embraced the opportunity with gratitude and renewed purpose.
“This is a dream come true. My heart has always been set on making life better for others.
Joining the Martins Vincent Otse Initiative means I get to serve on a larger scale and truly help put smiles on faces,” he shared.
The double recognition — from the state government and one of Africa’s most influential voices — has not only elevated UKmoni’s profile but also spotlighted the growing movement of youth-driven change in Nigeria.
As tributes and congratulations continue to pour in from across the country, June 17, 2025, will indeed be remembered as a defining milestone in the life of UKmoni — and a symbol of what is possible when passion meets purpose.
