The Federal Government has called on information officers across ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to strictly adhere to the principles of networking, coordination, relationship-building and effective communication in the discharge of their duties.

The call was made as part of efforts to ensure accurate, timely and consistent dissemination of government policies, programmes and achievements, particularly in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to the government, information officers play a critical role in shaping public perception and bridging the gap between the government and citizens. It stressed that stronger inter-agency collaboration and clear communication strategies are essential to counter misinformation, enhance transparency and build public trust.

The Federal Government further emphasized the need for information managers to embrace professionalism, digital tools and proactive engagement, noting that effective storytelling and coordinated messaging would help Nigerians better understand ongoing reforms and development initiatives under the current administration.

It added that a unified communication approach across MDAs would not only improve policy communication but also ensure that the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda are clearly articulated and widely understood by the public.
