MultiChoice Ghana has dismissed reports suggesting it has agreed to reduce subscription prices for its DStv services, contrary to an earlier statement by the Minister for Communications Technology and Innovation, Hon. Samuel Nartey George.

In a press release issued on Friday, September 5, 2025, the pay-TV operator clarified that while it is engaging the Minister in discussions to find an amicable solution that benefits all parties, no agreement has been reached on reducing prices.
“We will fully participate in the established Working Committee. However, we wish to clarify that MultiChoice Group has not agreed to a price reduction,” the statement read.
MultiChoice emphasized that it remains committed to dialogue with the government but stressed that any decision must not jeopardize the viability of its DStv service in Ghana.
The clarification comes after Minister Sam George had publicly announced that MultiChoice would slash subscription fees following government intervention.
The company’s statement now casts doubt on those claims, leaving subscribers uncertain about whether any immediate relief in pricing is forthcoming.
