Former National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jacob Mark, has faulted the recent comments made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, against the party’s leadership and decisions.
Speaking in an interview with Arise Television on Tuesday, Mark dismissed Wike’s relevance in the affairs of the opposition party, insisting that the minister has long ceased to be an active member of the PDP.
According to him, Wike no longer attends meetings or participates in the activities of the party, thereby lacking the legitimacy to speak on its internal matters.
“We cannot verify which party he belongs to now. He is not a member of the PDP and has not attended any of its meetings. He is not involved in the party’s decision-making process,” Mark stated.
The former legal adviser expressed shock that Wike still comments on issues relating to the PDP despite his detachment from its structures.
“He has not raised any argument or concern about the party. So we are surprised when we see him in the media talking about the PDP, especially on matters that are alien to the party,” he added.
Mark further criticized what he described as Wike’s imposition style of politics, stressing that such tendencies were unacceptable.
“I don’t understand how someone will be playing politics just by imposing decisions on people,” he said.
