Construction works are progressing rapidly at the Faculty of Engineering of Fr. Adasu University, Adikpo, in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.
A team of top government officials, including the Commissioner for Education and Knowledge Management, Dr. Margaret Adamu, and the Commissioner for Land, Survey and Solid Minerals, Rev. Dr. Fredrick Ikyaan, recently visited the site alongside the State Surveyor General and other directors to inspect the pace of work and survey the land to prevent encroachment.
During the visit, Mazi Ezenwa Onyirimba of Kew Power Engineering Company Ltd assured that all contractors were committed to delivering their projects on schedule and in line with specifications. Project consultant, Architect Gideon Agber, also confirmed that the works were progressing at a commendable pace.
The Ter Kwande, HRH Engr. Timothy Ahile, praised Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia for siting the university faculty in Kwande, expressing optimism that the institution could eventually evolve into a full-fledged stand-alone university.
Similarly, the Acting Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Simon Ubwa, accompanied by the registrar and other principal officers, lauded the governor for extending Fr. Adasu University to Kwande. He described the development as a “giant stride in bringing education to all nooks and crannies of Benue State.”
Prof. Ubwa revealed that the Adikpo campus is set to host the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Architecture, and Faculty of Technology and Industrial Studies, adding that efforts are being made to ensure the campus is fully prepared to commence academic activities soon.
