The Mdzough U Tiv (MUT) Abuja Branch has inaugurated a new administration, marking a smooth transition of leadership following a formal handover ceremony by the immediate past executive led by Elder Moses Dom Akaaza.
The event, which brought together Tiv indigenes, FCT area council officials, and other dignitaries, highlighted the spirit of continuity and collective responsibility.
Outgoing officials, including Elder Akaaza, His Excellency Surv. Tyoachimin, Elder Swem, and John Tsekusu, offered prayers for the success of the new team and pledged their continued support to advance the interests of the Tiv community in the Federal Capital Territory and beyond.
In an address to the gathering, the new administration reaffirmed its commitment to inclusivity, transparency, and accountability. The leadership stressed that unity and openness would guide its activities, describing the new phase as “a fresh era of collective progress” for Tiv people in Abuja.
“Our policies will be open, people-centered, and free from personal bias or sentiment,” the president assured. “We are committed to building bridges of inclusivity that will strengthen our community and harness the collective potential of the Tiv people.”
Ambassador Tersoo S. Orbunde, Chief Press Secretary to the president, added that the new administration will prioritize unity, transparency, and development, while ensuring that Tiv interests are well represented at all levels of governance.
The inauguration attracted wide participation, with FCT area council representatives, national appointees of the Mdzough U Tiv, and members of the new Abuja branch administration in attendance.
