Asom Terje Benjamin, better known by his stage name Mstylight or simply Emesty, is rapidly carving a niche for himself in Nigeria’s vibrant music scene.

A native of Amua Gaav in Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State, Mstylight is not just another rising star—he’s a cultural ambassador whose sound bridges tradition and modernity.

Born into the family of Asom Ikyume, his journey into music began in 2018, inspired and mentored by his elder brother, Asom Matthew.

From humble beginnings, Mstylight developed a sound that fuses Afrobeat, soul, and traditional Tiv rhythms, setting him apart from the crowd.

He burst onto the scene in 2021 with his debut single “Kulekuke”, a track that introduced his unique voice to the world.

But it was his 2023 breakthrough hit “Halle” that elevated him into wider recognition. With spiritual overtones and rich emotion, the song resonated with listeners across the Middle Belt and beyond.

In 2024, Mstylight deepened his cultural imprint with “Rose Kenedy”, a song delivered in both English and Tiv.

Its storytelling, emotional pull, and linguistic authenticity not only showcased his artistic growth but also connected deeply with fans, earning him admiration for embracing his roots while pushing creative boundaries.

Beyond the microphone, Mstylight is also a certified pastry chef—a rare combination that adds another layer to his creative identity.

“I sing from the soul, I bake from the heart,” he often says, a mantra that reflects the passion he pours into every endeavor.

Educationally, his foundation was built at RCM Primary School, Amua, followed by St. Monica Stars Academy, Ihugh for junior secondary school, and St. Joseph Science and Technology College, Makurdi for his senior years.

Known for his artistic talent in school, he consistently participated in music and entertainment activities, laying the groundwork for his current career.

Now unsigned but steadily growing, Mstylight is committed to staying true to his art and heritage. His music, deeply rooted in real-life experiences and cultural identity, continues to attract a loyal fanbase.

As he releases more singles and graces bigger stages, Mstylight is fast becoming a symbol of perseverance, passion, and authenticity among Nigerian youth.

Still on the rise, Mstylight stands poised to take his Tiv-rooted Afrobeat sound to the national and global stage, proving that talent knows no boundaries—and culture is a superpower.
