The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has successfully destroyed a major logistics chain belonging to Boko Haram terrorists in the Mandara Mountains, Borno State.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information at the NAF Headquarters.
The statement revealed that the targeted area had long served as a fortified enclave for the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) faction of Boko Haram.
The Mandara Mountains, known for their rugged and inaccessible terrain along Nigeria’s border with Cameroon, have recently seen a surge in terrorist activity.
Intelligence reports indicated a growing logistics build-up and the presence of senior JAS commanders in the area, prompting swift military action.
“Acting on credible intelligence, NAF aircraft carried out a series of precise and well-coordinated air interdictions in the mountainous region,” the statement said.
“The strikes successfully neutralized key terrorist infrastructure, including logistics warehouses, command centers, and defensive shelters.”
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by the Nigerian military to dismantle terrorist networks and deny them safe havens in the North-East.
The NAF reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining offensive operations against insurgents, assuring Nigerians that it would continue working with other security agencies to restore lasting peace and security in the region.
