Senator Ned Nwoko has expressed sympathy for men who have only one wife, insisting that polygamy brings men greater stability and balance.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Sunday, the lawmaker representing Delta North defended his polygamous lifestyle while also addressing recent allegations of domestic abuse made against him by his actress wife, Regina Daniels.
When asked how he manages his four wives — a feat many find daunting — Nwoko paused briefly before replying with an analogy.
“That’s a different discussion for another day. But yes, every man should do that. Imagine standing on one leg — it’s hard. But when you stand on two, three, or four, you’re more balanced. That’s how I see it. I actually feel sorry for those with one wife,” he explained.
Responding to the argument that the Bible does not support polygamy, the senator countered, “The Old Testament does. I’m a man of faith. But that’s not what we’re discussing here.”
Nwoko also made it clear that he has no regrets about his marital choices. “No, I don’t have any regrets. I would do it all over again. You should marry who you want to marry,” he stated confidently.
On the issue of alleged domestic violence, Nwoko strongly denied the claims, saying, “No, come on. I’m not a violent person. I respect my wives and love my kids.”
His remarks came shortly after Regina Daniels, his estranged wife, shared photos and videos of a new mansion on Instagram with the caption: “In my house, I am a Queen! I needed a roof over my head, so I got this for me and my family.”
This followed a viral video from October 18, where Daniels appeared in tears outside her Abuja residence, claiming she suffered abuse. “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing. But in my house, I’m a queen. I can’t stand the violence anymore,” she said.
The couple, whose six-year marriage once drew widespread attention for their significant age gap, now appears to be facing serious marital troubles playing out in public view.
