The Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) has extended warm felicitations to Senator Ken Nnamani, GCON — former President of the Nigerian Senate and current Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru — as he marks his 77th birthday today, November 2, 2025.
In a goodwill message signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Engr. Ifeanyi Jude Ngama, mni, the Association described Senator Nnamani as a reform-minded statesman whose leadership and commitment to democratic ideals have left a lasting imprint on Nigeria’s governance landscape.
AANI recalled his outstanding tenure as President of the Senate between 2005 and 2007, a period during which his firm adherence to constitutional order and political balance was instrumental in stabilising the nation’s democracy. His stance on transparency, rule of law, and institutional integrity, the statement noted, remains a benchmark for public officeholders.
Before venturing into politics, Senator Nnamani distinguished himself in the private sector, where he worked in international development consultancy and held key positions in multinational corporations. This exposure, AANI added, enriched his pragmatic and forward-looking approach to national leadership.
Beyond his time in the legislature, Senator Nnamani has remained deeply engaged in nation-building, contributing to peacebuilding efforts, electoral reforms, and national dialogue. As the current Chairman of the NIPSS Governing Board, he has infused renewed vigour and vision into the Institute, ensuring it continues to serve as Nigeria’s foremost policy and strategic think tank.
Speaking on behalf of the AANI family, Ambassador Emmanuel Obi Okafor, mni, President of the Association, lauded Senator Nnamani as “a voice of reason, a beacon of integrity, and a true patriot whose exemplary leadership continues to inspire both public and private sector actors.”
He further prayed that God grants the distinguished leader many more years of good health, wisdom, and fulfilment in his service to the nation.
