Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. Dr. George Akume, has highlighted the strides made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in strengthening security, revitalizing the economy, and improving citizens’ welfare, stressing the need for collective support to sustain the momentum.
Speaking in Abuja on Thursday while hosting members of the Council of Retired Federal Permanent Secretaries, led by former SGF Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, Akume said the President remains resolute in delivering on his campaign promises.
He pointed to completed and ongoing projects across the country as clear evidence of the government’s determination to improve governance and quality of life.
“In less than two years, this administration has given unprecedented attention to security, the economy, and welfare. These efforts are ongoing and will be consolidated in the months ahead,” Akume said.
He commended the council for its solidarity and emphasized that building stronger partnerships with credible groups was vital to accelerating national growth and development.
On his part, Alhaji Yayale Ahmed praised Akume’s leadership style, describing him as a man with the experience and tact to effectively coordinate the “engine room of governance,” given his track record as governor, senator, minister, and now SGF.
Other dignitaries present included Engr. Ebele Okeke (CFR), Mr. Akin Arikawe (OON), Mr. Japh Nwosu (OON), Dr. Adaoha Okwuosa (OON), Amb. Bulus Lolo, Dr. Ochi C. Achinku (OON), Haj. Binta L. Adam Bello (OON), Nana Fatima Mede (OON), Sabin Zakari, Olusade Adesola (OON), David Adejo Andrew (OON, FFAN), and Silas Pampy Ayuba.
The Council assured of its readiness to support President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda through the SGF’s office, pledging to work towards the administration’s success.
