Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has presented a brand new Hilux vehicle to the paramount ruler of Gboko, Ter Gboko, in recognition of his role in fostering peace and stability within Tiv land.
The donation, which has been widely acknowledged as a significant show of respect to the traditional institution, was received with appreciation by the royal household and the people of Gboko.

However, concerned voices within Tiv land have appealed to the governor to extend the gesture to other traditional rulers. Specifically, calls were made for the remaining 13 Uter (chiefs) across Tiv land—who have not faced public embarrassment or ridicule—to also benefit from similar support.
The appeal reflects a growing expectation that all traditional rulers in Tiv land should be accorded equal recognition and respect, given their roles as custodians of culture and mediators in communal harmony.

Governor Alia, since assuming office, has repeatedly emphasized his administration’s commitment to strengthening traditional institutions, describing them as vital partners in grassroots governance and peace-building.
