Atu Terver, Principal Special Assistant on Youth and Media Mobilization to Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has refuted an allegation made by social media activist Martin Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), concerning a purported missing car dealer linked to the state government.
VDM, in a video posted on Facebook Friday, claimed that a vehicle dealer who allegedly sold nine cars worth ₦1.2 billion to the Benue State Government had gone missing after the government failed to make payment. He further alleged that one of the governor’s cabinet members last contacted the dealer for a meeting in a hotel in Abuja.
Tagging Governor Alia directly, VDM suggested that the state government might be holding the dealer. He wrote:
“To the executive governor of Benue State, the car dealer your government is owing ₦1.2 billion for nine vehicles your government collected seems to have gone missing. The last time we spoke, he said a cabinet member invited him to a hotel in Abuja. Rev Fr Alia, if he is in your custody, please release him. What is his crime?”
Responding under the viral post, Atu—popularly called Krayzeetee—dismissed the insinuations, stressing that Governor Alia could never “stoop as low as abducting someone.”
He wrote:
“A lot of things don’t add up here, but because it involves a governor, people will believe it easily. You claim a cabinet member invited him, but where is the name? What about the phone number? Previously, you also accused government officials of demanding money without mentioning names.
“I think you should learn from Ahmed Isah of the Brekete Family, who would at least attempt to reach out to the governor before going public. But because you want traffic and comments against the governor, you rushed to post it.
“Governor Alia is a man of God and cannot stoop to such levels. In the fight for justice, both sides of the story must be heard. Remember, you are not God—you only have followers.”
