The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced a two-week warning strike to press home its demands from the Federal Government.

ASUU President, Dr. Chris Piwuna, made the announcement during a press conference held at the union’s national headquarters in the University of Abuja.

Piwuna explained that the temporary strike is intended to give the government a final opportunity to conclude ongoing negotiations with the union. He directed ASUU members in universities nationwide to suspend all academic activities effective from midnight.

According to him, the decision followed the government’s continued lack of sincerity and failure to meet key aspects of their agreements.

Details later.
