The Benue State Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has officially unveiled a new website as part of efforts to modernise governance and enhance transparency across the state.

Speaking at the launch ceremony on Friday, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Terna Ayu, described the initiative as a major milestone under Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia’s administration, aimed at repositioning the Bureau for improved efficiency, transparency, and service delivery in line with contemporary governance standards.

Ayu explained that the platform would function as a central hub for information dissemination, providing updates on policies, guidelines, and reforms, while strengthening communication between the Bureau, local government councils, traditional institutions, and the public.

He noted that the development aligns with Governor Alia’s broader vision of leveraging digital transformation to reinforce grassroots governance.

The Bureau also assured that the website would remain dynamic, user-friendly, and regularly updated, making it a critical tool for transparency and improved service delivery.

Developed by Jayjaysol Global Concept Limited, the platform features a modern interface, an integrated publication system, and a secure administrative dashboard.

The Principal Partner of the firm, Dr. Fanen Upwa, stated that the website was built with advanced security architecture and scalable technology to ensure long-term sustainability. He added that the project also included upgrades such as improved internet infrastructure, an internal intercom system, and new computer systems to support daily operations.

Representing the Chief of Staff and serving as chairman of the occasion, Dr. Joseph Nule highlighted that the Bureau’s newspaper, previously limited to local circulation, would now reach a global audience through the digital platform.

In her remarks, the Executive Secretary of the Primary Healthcare Board, Ashi Wende, urged the Bureau to incorporate a health section to showcase collaborative efforts with international organisations.

She noted that the initiative reflects Benue State’s commitment to adopting digital tools to enhance governance, transparency, and service delivery at the grassroots level.
