In a demonstration of compassion and commitment to education, the Benue State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hon. Kunde Aondowase Ephraim, has awarded a full scholarship to Miss Terhemen Nguwasen, an orphan from Mbayegh/Mbaikyer Council Ward in Konshisha Local Government Area.
Miss Nguwasen, a secondary school student, had earlier dropped out of school following the death of her father, which left her family struggling with financial constraints. Her plight came to the attention of the commissioner during a recent community tour, prompting his swift intervention to restore her hope.
The scholarship will cover her secondary school fees, ensuring she can continue her education without the burden of financial worries. While presenting the support, Hon. Kunde charged Miss Nguwasen to remain focused and dedicated to her studies, reminding her that education is the key to a brighter future.
He emphasized that his ministry will continue to identify and assist vulnerable individuals, particularly orphans and those in difficult circumstances, as part of its humanitarian mandate.
Community members have lauded the commissioner’s gesture, describing it as a beacon of hope and an example of true leadership. They noted that such interventions not only transform individual lives but also contribute to the growth and progress of the wider society.
By investing in Miss Nguwasen’s education, Hon. Kunde Aondowase Ephraim has reaffirmed his commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders and change-makers in Benue State.
