The Benue State Education Quality Assurance and Examinations Board (BEQAEB) has announced an extension of the registration period for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), providing additional time for candidates who are yet to complete their enrollment.

According to a statement issued by the Board’s Information Officer, Jeffrey Adzam, the extension is aimed at ensuring inclusivity and giving all eligible students the opportunity to participate in the examination.

He emphasized that the decision reflects the Board’s commitment to leaving no candidate behind, particularly those who may have encountered delays during the initial registration phase.

Under the revised schedule, the sale of registration PINs will now run from March 23 to March 31, 2026, while the full registration exercise has been extended to April 7, 2026.

BEQAEB has called on school administrators, parents, and other stakeholders to take advantage of the extended window by completing all necessary registration procedures promptly. Schools that have not finalized their candidates’ registration are specifically directed to visit the official BEQAEB portal to conclude the process within the stipulated timeframe.

The Board warned that failure to comply with the new deadline may result in affected candidates being unable to sit for the 2026 BECE.

“Stakeholders are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to avoid missing the registration deadline,” Adzam stated.

The extension is expected to ease pressure on schools and ensure broader participation in this year’s examination across Benue State.
