Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, on Saturday paid a condolence visit to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, at his Abuja residence following the death of his mother.

El-Rufai’s mother reportedly passed away on Friday afternoon after battling age-related health complications that had deteriorated in recent times.

The former governor was said to have been released from the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) shortly after news of the bereavement emerged.

Earlier, El-Rufai had received several prominent figures, including former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, and former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, alongside other key opposition leaders who visited to offer their condolences.
