Suspected kidnappers who had just collected ransom money were on Monday morning involved in a motor accident at Angwan Mayo in Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Eyewitnesses said the criminals were attempting to flee after securing the ransom when their vehicle crashed, drawing the attention of security operatives in the area.
Soldiers and police officers were reported to have swiftly moved to the scene, cordoning off the area and taking control of the situation.
Residents of Kokona commended the timely intervention of the security agencies, stressing that their rapid response prevented the suspects from escaping further.
As of press time, authorities had not released details regarding arrests made or the condition of the accident victims.
