The management of the Federal Polytechnic Wannune has refuted allegations of terrorism, money laundering, and organized crime leveled against it by one Doris Ngurumun Iorchir, describing the claims as baseless and misleading.
In a statement issued by its Information Officer, the institution said the allegations contained in a series of petitions authored by Ms. Iorchir “exist only in her imagination” and have no connection with the activities of the polytechnic.
The management accused Ms. Iorchir of attempting to evade accountability for what it described as a history of violent conduct against colleagues, persistent industrial disputes with past employers, and an unverified academic record.
According to the statement, rather than await a Governing Council meeting already scheduled to consider her petition, she opted for “media trials” and what the school called mischievous accusations involving high-profile personalities.
Highlighting the school’s progress under Rector Dr. Dajoh Ashinya Tyover, the polytechnic said it had expanded from two National Diploma programmes to 24, with eight Higher National Diploma programmes introduced in less than two years. It added that the institution enjoys peace and security through collaboration with security agencies, traditional rulers, and the host community.
The statement further cautioned Ms. Iorchir against dragging the polytechnic into security matters beyond its scope, warning that she could be held responsible if her actions jeopardized the safety of staff or students.
The management therefore urged members of the public to disregard her allegations, insisting they were acts of desperation influenced by political interests aimed at distracting the school from its development agenda.
