Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has approved the appointment of two aides to strengthen his administration’s reforms in the forestry and logging sector.
The new appointees are Orkuma Adzua Ikyur, who will serve as Principal Special Assistant on Forestry and Logging, and Onoja Michael Audu, appointed as Senior Special Assistant on Forestry and Logging.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday, September 29, 2025, by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula (mnipr).
According to the statement, Governor Alia congratulated the appointees and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by bringing their experience and dedication to bear in the discharge of their duties.
The Governor added that the move was part of his administration’s resolve to ensure effective management of forest resources and to promote sustainable practices in the logging industry.
Kula further stressed that the appointments take immediate effect.
