Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has approved a fresh round of appointments into strategic offices, statutory boards, and commissions in the state, with a charge to the appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering on their mandates.

The announcement, made on Sunday, September 14, 2025, takes immediate effect.

In the latest appointments, Linda Ene Agada has been named Special Adviser on MSMEs/Microfinance, while Hon. James Tor will serve as Special Adviser on Politics, Mobilisation & Special Duties. Dr. Shadrach Ukuma has been appointed Director-General of Arts, Culture & Tourism, and Tivlumun Bulya will serve as Personal Assistant on Benue State House of Assembly Matters.

For the Benue State Pension Commission, the governor approved the constitution of a new board, with Mbajwa Zungwega Nicholas as Chairman. Other members include Cmrd. Umaja A. Alloysius, Asen Sambe, the Special Adviser on Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, the Commissioner for Finance, the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, the Head of Service, and the Director-General of the Benue State Planning Commission.

In a similar move, the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) also got a new governing board. It is to be chaired by Chief Elizabeth Shuluwa, with Andrew Aondofa Chila, Ashi Iortyom Donald, John Ochonye Oyishoma, the Commissioner for Trade & Industry, and the Commissioner for Justice & Attorney General of the State as members.

The Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS) board was also reconstituted, with Ande Clement Shianti, Anyam Terzungwe Jeremiah, Elizabeth Onekele, a representative from the Ministry of Finance, and a representative from the Ministry of Agriculture as members.

Governor Alia urged all the newly appointed officials to bring their experience, professionalism, and commitment to bear in the discharge of their responsibilities. He stressed that the move is part of his administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance structures, boost efficiency, and drive sustainable development across Benue State.

“These appointments are not privileges but a call to service,” the governor stated, assuring that his government remains resolute in transforming Benue State for the benefit of all citizens.
