Former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh, has formally expressed his gratitude to colleagues, constituents, and supporters following his resignation from office on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
In a statement released on Monday, Dajoh reflected on his tenure as the first Speaker of the 10th Assembly, acknowledging the confidence reposed in him by his constituents in Gboko West (Gbemacha) and by lawmakers who elected him to lead the Assembly from June 2023 until his exit.
“I want to specially appreciate my constituents of Gboko West (Gbemacha) that first voted me as a member of the 10th Benue Assembly. I am eternally grateful to them,” he said.
He also extended appreciation to Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia for the support he enjoyed throughout his leadership as Speaker, describing his tenure as one guided by collaboration and mutual respect.
Dajoh did not leave out his aides, Assembly staff, and colleagues, whom he praised for their “technical and moral support,” as well as his wife, Kundumiyol Dajoh, whom he described as “the best example of a supportive wife.”
“Finally and above all, my thanks goes to the Almighty God, the maker and giver of all things. I thank you God for the good health, wisdom and grace. May your name be praised both now and forever,” he added.
The former Speaker emphasized that though he has stepped down, his political journey is far from over, urging for peace and unity among the people of Benue State.
“Let there be peace and let’s move on. The journey is still ahead,” Dajoh concluded.
Rt. Hon. Dajoh served as Speaker from June 5, 2023, until his resignation on August 24, 2025, marking a two-year stewardship at the helm of the State Assembly.
