Panic broke out in Zaki-Biam, Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State, on Monday when unknown gunmen shot and killed a repentant bandit, identified as Kyoga Joka, in the town’s main market.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers stormed the busy market and opened fire on Joka, who was a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) in Ukum.
He died on the spot, causing traders and shoppers to flee in confusion.
