A former Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State, Chief George Ali, has described the late Chief Audu Ogbeh as a courageous and visionary leader who stood firmly by his principles until his death.
Chief Ali made this known in an interview with Daily Asset correspondent at his office in Abuja. He said the late statesman would be remembered for his outstanding service to Benue State and Nigeria at large, having held several key leadership positions with integrity and dedication.
According to him, Chief Ogbeh’s political journey spanned various roles, including member of the Benue State House of Assembly, Minister of Communications, National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and later, Minister of Agriculture. In all of these capacities, Ali noted, the late Ogbeh distinguished himself through good governance and left enduring legacies.
“At a time when many politicians were afraid to speak out, the late Ogbeh stood tall by voicing his opinion against the presidency while serving as National Chairman of the PDP. That singular act showed the depth of his courage and commitment to truth,” Ali stated.
The former council boss commiserated with the family of the deceased, the people of Benue State, and Nigerians at large. He prayed to God to grant them the strength to bear the loss and to accept the soul of Chief Ogbeh.
