A Magistrate Court sitting in Makurdi has ordered the remand of Mr. Haakyav Tombu Peter, popularly known as OrDubuDeli, at the Makurdi Correctional Facility over allegations of terrorism and robbery.

According to reports, Mr. Peter had earlier petitioned the Benue State Commissioner of Police, alleging that he was attacked on Sunday at Judges Quarters, Makurdi, during which his mobile phone was stolen.

However, the case took a dramatic turn when a counter-petition surfaced, accusing him of masterminding an attack on the residence of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) in Makurdi. He was alleged to have carried out the incident alongside yet-to-be-identified accomplices.

The police subsequently arrested Mr. Peter and arraigned him before the court on charges bordering on terrorism and robbery. Given the capital nature of the alleged offenses, the court declined to grant bail and ordered his remand at the Makurdi Correctional Facility.

Meanwhile, his legal representatives have filed a bail application, which is scheduled for hearing tomorrow. The development has generated widespread public interest, with many awaiting the court’s decision on whether Mr. Peter will be granted temporary freedom pending trial.
