Former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, was involved in a heated confrontation with operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) during an early morning raid at his Abuja residence.

In a video circulating online, Malami is seen challenging the legitimacy of the operation, repeatedly asking the officials to produce a valid court order authorising their presence.

“Where is your court order? Do you want to disgrace me?” he demanded.

The EFCC operatives reportedly insisted they had the authority to mark the property, claiming it was under investigation. However, Malami countered their claims, arguing that any such court order had already expired.

“You said the property is under probation—does that still apply when the order has elapsed?” he queried.

He also questioned the repeated visits by the operatives, noting that they had earlier been at another of his residences the same morning.

Malami further maintained that the order cited by the officials lacked clear directives empowering them to act.

“This matter is already before the court. Show me where it authorises you to be here,” he said.

Meanwhile, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) were also reported to have stormed one of Malami’s houses in Abuja earlier on Monday, forcing occupants to vacate the premises.

The incident occurred shortly after a visit by former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, who reportedly spent about an hour at the Maitama residence before departing.
