It was a moment of pride in Gboko when Engr. Jacob Tyo, a young manufacturer of agro-processing machines, received royal blessings from the Paramount Ruler of the Tiv Nation, Orcivirigh Prof. James Ayatse.

The Tor Tiv, impressed by the engineer’s creativity, described his innovation as an answered prayer for the technological growth of the Tiv people. He urged Tyo to share his knowledge with youths by training them to build machines that would ease farm labour and boost productivity.

The monarch pledged his full support, promising to link the innovator with relevant authorities for financial assistance to expand his vision.

During the historic palace visit, Engr. Tyo demonstrated his latest agro-tiller, explaining that farmers’ struggles inspired him to design machines that promote mechanized farming and deliver greater value for their labour.

With plans to train at least 40 youths if empowered, and ambitions to design rice harvesters and other agro-machines, the young innovator said the Tor Tiv’s encouragement has strengthened his resolve.

“This is a remarkable day for me and for our people,” he said with gratitude. “The blessing of our great father will push me to do even more for our farmers.”
