The Executive Chairman of Ushongo Local Government, Hon. Terkimbi Timothy Adzu, has distributed 12 brand-new motorcycles to the 11 councillors of the area and the Clerk of the legislative house.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Adzu said the gesture was aimed at building bridges, boosting human resource capacity, and fostering greater collaboration within the council.
According to him, empowering his legislative team is part of a deliberate strategy to drive grassroots development and prepare the local government for bigger political victories.
He explained that his overriding mission is to rally the people of Ushongo behind the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia, ahead of the 2027 general elections. Hon. Adzu described the governor as a leader with vision and integrity, stressing that his council is determined to work towards securing electoral success for him.
The Local Government boss also disclosed that the official endorsement of Governor Alia’s second-term ambition by Ushongo stakeholders would soon commence, describing the process as a show of loyalty and commitment to the governor’s developmental agenda.
Many residents and political observers have commended the chairman for the move, describing it as both a motivational incentive for his councillors and a bold step towards strengthening political unity in the local government area.
