The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has revealed why he no longer employs female secretaries, especially during periods when his work stretches late into the night.
Speaking during a recent message, Pastor Adeboye explained that he made the decision out of a commitment to personal discipline and to avoid any situation that could lead to temptation or misinterpretation.
According to him, once he realised that his workload would require him to stay in the office late at night, he immediately stopped having a female secretary to prevent being alone with a woman in such hours.
“I stopped having a female secretary the moment I knew I would begin to work late into the night,” he said. “I know the dangers of being left alone at night with people of the opposite gender.”
Pastor Adeboye reiterated that his choice was a proactive measure to maintain integrity in ministry and uphold the high moral standards expected of spiritual leaders. He added that everyone should understand their personal boundaries and take steps to protect themselves from compromising situations.
His statement has sparked discussions on social media, with many praising his discipline while others debate the implications of such a policy in modern work environments.
Pastor Adeboye remains one of Nigeria’s most influential religious leaders, widely respected for his teachings on holiness, discipline, and personal responsibility.
