President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has vowed that Nigeria will not surrender to individuals or groups attempting to destabilise the country, assuring citizens that his administration remains determined to defeat insecurity and maintain national unity.

The President made this declaration on Monday evening during an Interfaith Iftar held with religious and traditional leaders at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The gathering formed part of activities during the Muslim fasting period of Ramadan, bringing together leaders from different faiths to pray for peace and national progress.

Tinubu stressed that Nigeria would never allow forces threatening its peace, unity, and independence to succeed. According to him, despite the security challenges facing the country, the government and security agencies are making progress in confronting terrorism and other criminal activities.

“We are not discouraged. We are going to win, and we will win in a strong and fair way,” the President said. “Yes, we are facing challenges, but the terrorists are now in a desperate situation because they are losing ground.”

He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the nation with dedication, adding that the government would continue to intensify efforts to restore stability across the country.

Speaking on the economy, Tinubu said there are early signs of recovery and improvement following reforms introduced by his administration. According to him, although many Nigerians are still experiencing economic hardship, gradual relief is beginning to reach citizens, particularly the elderly and vulnerable groups.

The President expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the country and urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and united, assuring them that the government will continue working tirelessly to strengthen the nation’s security and economic stability.
